Fattoria il Colombaio is nowadays considered a symbol of the local environment that has always witnessed the development of the area, shown since 1800, when the Municipality of Monteriggioni conferred the farm an honour for its dedication to agriculture.
The estate consists of 60 hectares of land, where there are located the cellar, 10 hectars of vineyards, the olive grove.
Today, under the oenological guidance of the young Mirko Niccolai and the experience of Paolo Caciornia, Colombaio has been started since the high quality wine production, entirely focused on the care and vinification of Sangiovese grape cultivated in the Monteriggioni area.
Sangiovese is conceived as the traditional vine with its endless potential capable, thanks to the new vinification technologies to express new sensations, it represent the "hero" of the tastes and flavours revolution.
This is the mission of Fattoria il Colombaio, giving life to the expression of Sangiovese grape from the classical traditional tastes to the most refined modern ones.
