Podere San Lorenzo - Brunello Di Montalcino Bramate 2010 Ml. 750
At least 24 months
The property Sanlorenzo lies on the south west side of the municipality of Montalcino, at 500m. on the crest of the hills that stretch softly towards the river Ombrone. The land extends on both slopes of the hills : the woods with a northern exposure, towards the Arbia valley, the vineyards exposed south- west and the Maremma. The soil is rocky and Galestro and tends to be dry and poor. The special micro climate and the concentration of rainfall in spring and during late autumn, influence the growth of the Sangiovese and give the grapes an unique flavour. Some windy days the vineyards become the voice of Sanlorenzo, a choir that breaks the usual silence and for a few days seems to tell the stories of Sanlorenzo.
Sanlorenzo has four principal vineyards. They are located on the southern slopes of the property, with south or western exposure, depending on the natural setting of the terroir. The vineyards cover a total of 4,7 hectares, all planted with Sangiovese vines. The plant's age varies from 40 to 10 years. The planting method is spur cordon training, with an average of 2 buds per plant. The density of vines per hectar depends on the age of the vineyard and ranges from 3000 ( the older ones) to 4500 plants(the most recent ones).
In 2012 we introduced organic agriculture.
