Characteristic
Conterno Fantino was founded by the present owners in 1982. Claudio Conterno and longtime friend Guido Fantino shared bodly innovative ideas, with a solid basis in classic vineyard management and wine-marking skills. In 1994, they built a new, state-of-the-art winery high up in Monforte d'Alba, within the Bricco Bastia terroir. This became the heart of their estate, scenically located with a view of the entire Alpi Piemontesi range, and including vinification and maturation areas, bottling ranges and warehouse space. Here, technology and vinicultural know-how play fundamental roles. However, the Conterno Fantino philosophy is firmly based on meticulous vineyard management, for great Piemontese wine starts in the vineyarde.

Nel 1982 viene fondata l’azienda agricola Conterno Fantino, da Claudio Conterno e Guido Fantino. L'azienda si estende per 27 ettari di vigneto suddivisi tra, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, producendo 140 mila bottiglie. La regola importante dell'azienda e la salvaguardia della biodiversità, il rispetto della terra, sono le linee guida nella conduzione dei vigneti, che vengono coltivati interamente in agricoltura biologica. Anche la cantina viene costruita ad impatto ambientale. Nel 2008, è stato realizzato impiegando varie tecniche mirate sia al risparmio energetico che all’utilizzo di fonti rinnovabili quali l’impianto geotermico,
