L'azienda Ricasoli è la più antica azienda vitivinicola italiana nata nel 1141. Nel 1872 il Barone Bettino Ricasoli inventa il Chianti, l'azienda ha una superficie di 1.200 ettari tra i comuni di Gaiole e di Castelnuovo Berardenga, tra cui 235 ettari a vigneto e 26 ettari coltivati a olivi. Dal 1993 Francesco Ricasoli rinnova le qualità e la personalità dei grandi vini di Brolio inserendo nuove etichette. Terreni A metà degli anni '90 Barone Ricasoli, iniziava un grande progetto di rinnovamento di tutti i vigneti di sua proprietà nel Chianti Classico, per un totale di 235,83 ettari, con l'inserimento del merlot ed il cabernet.
