Capichera

The company was founded in 1980 in Arzachena, Sardinia, Fabrizio and Mario Ragnedda perceive the great potential of Vermentino vinified in purity. They find that Vermentino di Gallura, produced in the Capichera family vineyards, is a high-profile white wine able to compete with the best on the international scene. The Capichera winery undoubtedly represents a point of reference in the Sardinian wine scene. They understand that the extraordinary union of this vine, with the granite soils close to the sea, can give life to something unique. Working with innovative techniques, they set new quality standards, and make their wines known with the name Capichera. They are the first in the world to vinify Vermentino in barrique, and immediately produce wines from individual vineyards. Flag of the Italian Vermentino in the world, Capichera has the merit of the enological rebirth and revaluation in Sardinia and today, for the history and uniqueness of the wines, it is considered the world reference of Vermentino. In the 90s the Ragnedda family acquired two new properties, in Olbia and Palau, planted them in Syrah and Carignano, to produce the reds Assajé, Mantènghja, Albóri di Làmpata. Currently Capichera consists of about 50 hectares of vineyards, located in some of the most suitable areas of Sardinia. Today Vermentino, an Italian wine-making heritage, is one of the greatest international whites, of which Capichera is an essential reference.
