Benito Favaro
The year 1992 is running and Benito Favaro decides to take the wine route. We are talking about a small company that has always been family-run and today it is led by Camillo Favaro, helped in the vineyards by his father Benito, and by a completely family-friendly staff.
We are in Piverone, on the Serra, the largest moraine hill in Europe, near Lake Viverone acts as a thermal regulator and the woods are a wild counterbalance to the presence of man and the many cultivated terraces. The Favaro family cultivates its vineyards with passion and love. Using the traditional and proven pergola for the Erbaluce, while for the other vines the classic guyot espalier. The soil is made up of pebbles and clay that give the wines freshness, while the exposure always to the south and the fact of cultivating vines between 350 and 400 meters above sea level make the difference in terms of character. The company has recently completed the conversion process to organic. they make a difference in character.
I have no doubts: today the Erbaluce di Caluso of father Benito and his son Camillo are the reference whites on the denomination: wines with a strong personality, vibrant with freshness, deep in flavor and capable of a good seal over time, as shown by some old vintages recently tasted
