The Carbone company is located in Melfi on the slopes of Mount Vulture, an ancient volcano in the heart of Basilicata that has given the area a unique terroir: a lava soil rich in potassium and extremely fertile.
The uncontaminated nature of the Vulture offers high quality mineral waters, wines and oils. Its combination with the microclimate, characterized by high temperature ranges, makes Aglianico unique, which has its roots in this area.
Wine is a family passion for the Carbone family, winemakers since 1974, handed down to their sons Luca and Sara who continue the winemaking business of Aglianico del Vulture DOC in the sense of continuity of experiences and values.
The underlying philosophy that guides our family's choices is the exaltation of the Terroir, the link with the fertile land of the Vulture, the result of millennia of generous work bequeathed to us by this volcano. The winemaking activity begins in the vineyard, where the processing follows the vegetative biological rhythm of the plant and aims to obtain a limited yield per vine to favor the organoleptic qualities. The harvest is done by hand in small boxes. In the cellar, the most modern technologies are at the service of preserving the peculiar character of the noble native vine, so austere and exuberant at the same time. Thanks to the partnership with the oenologist Sergio Paternoster, wines with an authentic face are born, with a strong and sunny character, linked to the territory and its history.
