Vergne, the highest fraction of the municipality of Barolo, with its vineyards reaching up to 350 - 400 meters, where Nebbiolo, but also Dolcetto and Barbera, ripens later than the grapes from the other terroirs and crus of the country, has always expressed Barolo with special characteristics over time. Wines with particularly fresh aromas, with a well-present but balanced acidity, and a juicy fruit that is always alive, which find their distinctive element in the aromatic finesse. Enhancing this peculiarity and allowing it, in each wine produced, to express itself fully, is the desire of Milena and Aldo Vaira, who since the early seventies, working on the vineyards of Aldo's father, Giuseppe Domenico, and gradually expanding the area under vines, bringing it up to 40 hectares, of which 10 in Nebbiolo da Barolo, located in strategic positions such as Bricco delle Viole, Fossati, La Volta, Coste di Vergne, have managed to "build" a corporate style, a way of working, in the vineyard and in the cellar, absolutely personal marked by elegance. Passionate and attentive winemakers, but above all people who live their profession of wine producers in a discreet way, wanted their Barolo "Bricco delle Viole", Barbera Superiore, the new born Barolo "Albe" (cuvée of the grapes of their different vineyards), Dolcetto Coste & Fossati, Barbera d'Alba, but also the more "courageous" wines they created by interpreting the terroir of Vergne, Freisa Kyè, still and aged in wood, and Langhe Bianco, born as a tribute to Prince of the noble white grape varieties, Riesling Renano, were born in a particularly welcoming, warm and illuminated environment with the construction of the new cellar.
