In 1998 Alberto Carnasciali and his wife Franca Buzzegoli bought a plot of land of about 18 ha. in the municipality of Magliano in Toscana (Grosseto) near Montiano with the intention of creating a winery in an area particularly suited to great red wines but not yet valued. The company is located on the edge of the Maremma Natural Park on a hill facing south, south-west, with predominantly sandy soils of calcareous origin. Immediately after the purchase, work began on the land for the construction of the vineyards which are located at an altitude ranging from 150 m. up to 260 m. above sea level and cover an area of about 13 ha. with a planting density of approximately 5,300 plants per hectare. The company choices have been based from the beginning on the creation of Morellino di Scansano, considering that the company is located in one of the most suitable areas for the production of Morellino, dedicating to it over 8 ha of vineyards, while in the remaining part they are planted Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for the production of IGT Maremma Toscana Cupinero. The company's goal is to produce quality products, therefore all business management choices go in this direction: low production, manual green management, thinning of the bunches.
