Thanks to Sergio Manetti who in 1967 bought Montevertine as a holiday home. He restores the house, and plants two hectares of vineyard and create a small cellar with the aim of producing some wine for his friends and customers. So in 1971, Sergio Manetti decided to send some bottles to Vinitaly in Verona through the Siena Chamber of Commerce. Great success, so Sergio abandoned his primary business to devote himself solely to wine. New vineyards were created, the cellar enlarged. The company is now followed by his son Martino Manetti with the collaboration of Bruno Bini, born in Montevertine and profound connoisseur of the area and the land. Thanks to the advice of Giulio Gambelli, consultant and teacher since the company was founded. In this territory among the most beautiful in the world, a bond is born between people and Sangiovese.
