Alzinger

The Alzinger family handed down their viticulture business from father to son with “understatement” and conviction, an attitude that is reflected in the wines. Leo Alzinger is one of the fixed stars in the firmament of Wachau winemakers. He produces outstanding rieslings, surprisingly deep and mineral. Often shy in their youth, after many years of adolescence their true character becomes evident. If you really wanted to understand the character of a champion Grüner Veltliner, sid would have to decant a mature bottle of Alzinger and wait for it spellbound. For centuries, high-class Grüner Veltliner and Riesling have been produced around Loiben. If Riesling does not need to be presented, "Grüner Veltliner is the traditional grape of Wachau, with which the most convincing wines are produced. In the best vintages they are characterized by green, exuberant and bold, almost pungent shades and age like a good Burgundy.
