On the soft green hills surrounding Castelnuovo Magra the couple Marcoli-Peri look after their property Cascina dei Peri and their small beautiful vineyard. They grow Vermentino grapes ,which Riccardo Arrigoni turns into wine in his native city of La Spezia and he does it with an ancient passion and with an artistry which , by family tradition , continues to be respectful of wholesome wine-making. The fermentation is carried out slowly , at low temperature , in stainless steel vats. The wine is bottled in Spring and marries perfectly well the Mediterranean cuisine.
