At the end of the 80s Pieri Alessandro decided to remise his land, located south of Montalcino, to his daughters who, from 1990, started their business as grapes producers.
The moderate amount of grapes was sold to other wine makers because of our lack of knowledge in wine making.
Only in 1994, after the acquisition of a consultant, a wine cellar was built and the wine production started.
The early processes were based on a very traditional concept, tipical of the area, that required a 3 year ageing in Slavonian durmast barrels, as required by Montalcino tradition.
Today our productive cycles for Brunello are based on a 2 year ageing; during the first year the wine ages in french barriques, while during the second year it ages inside 40 Hl Slavonian barrels.
Our farm owns about 11 hectares located in Montalcino territory, with a south-westerly exposure; the soil is fertile and contains river stones. This tipical structure is the optimal environment for creating structured wines, rich in perfumes.
