Our Cannonau comes from a single vineyard located in central Sardinia nearby the town of Mamoiada, at about 750 meters above sea level.
The grapes are picked exclusively by hand around mid October and the wine is aged in french oak (both Barrique and Tonneaux) for 12 months.
Mamoiada is located in the heart of Sardinia, in a historic area called “Barbagia”. here altitude reigns supreme, which allows the Cannonau grapes to benefit from intense fluctuations of temperatures between night and day contributing to a slow and complete maturation of the grapes which in turn creates great balance in the wine between alcohol and acidity.
Our vineyards of 2 hectares are located above the town of Mamoiada at 755 meters above sea level in crushed granite soils. Here we find approx. 7000 plants of Cannoanau and 2000 plants mixed between Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante, Syrah, Sangiovese and Carignano. These grapes produce two wines, the first being a Cannonau di Sardegna DOC ( 98% Cannonau 2% Alicante) and the second an Isola dei Nuraghi IGT called “755mt” (Cannonau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante, Syrah, Sangiovese and Carignano).
