Brancaia

Brigitte and Bruno Widmer in 1981 fell in love with Brancaia in Castellina in Chianti, the company had been abandoned, so it was bought. The work done pays off almost immediately, two years later, Brancaia ranked first in a Chianti Classico tasting, leading it to become known internationally. The company expands in 1989 with the purchase of the Poppi farm (Radda in Chianti), expanding the company in 1998 with the creation of Brancaia in Maremma, just 10 km from the sea. Thanks to this change, Brancaia is now one of the most important companies in Tuscany, each year it receives important national and international awards. The company has an area of ​​1981 when the Swiss Brigitte and Bruno Widmer fell in love with Brancaia (Castellina in Chianti), a company in a state of neglect, and bought it. Just two years later, Brancaia was ranked first in a Chianti Classico tasting and has rapidly established itself internationally ever since. This has led to a continuous expansion of the business, first in 1989 with the purchase of the Poppi farm (Radda in Chianti) and then in 1998 with the creation of Brancaia in Maremma, just 10 km from the sea. Since 1998 Barbara Widmer, oenologist and daughter of the owners, has been responsible for the production and vineyards in all three companies, flanked by the oenologist Carlo Ferrini. From 2002 to 2014 Martin Kronenberg assisted Barbara in managing the companies and was responsible for marketing and global distribution. Today Brrancaia is counted among the most important companies in Tuscany and receives important national and international awards every year. Its wines are successfully distributed all over the world. The company has an area of ​​90 hectares of vineyards divided between Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Maremma. in order to offer a safe and pleasant product to drink.
