Tenute Moganazzi
The property extends for about 8 hectares on the north-east side of Mount Etna at about 650 meters above sea level.
The vineyards, mostly planted with sapling, are made up almost exclusively of the vines provided for by the disciplinary: Carricante, Cataratto and Minnella for the white grapes, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for the red ones.
The average age of the plants is over 80 years with the presence of over one hundred year old strains.
The soil is basaltic, rich in silica and a large number of minerals (potassium, phosphorus, iron, manganese ...), the roots of our almost centenary plants sink for several meters in search of that nourishment that will then turn into sensations in the glass sensorial and gustatory typical of Etna wines.
Don Michele Pennisi, progenitor and passionate winemaker, loved these vineyards dedicating time and passion to them, feelings that continue today with his son Vincenzo who reinterprets the passion of his late father by producing wines of extreme finesse and elegance.
