La Fornacina
Ruggero Biliorsi is the founder of the company and his first Brunello wine produced dates back to the 1981 harvest, today, managed mainly by his son Simone together with the collaboration of his brother Mauro, preserves unchanged the same prerogatives that aim to enhance the values of the land on which it stands. . A small but ambitious project that aims, in addition to producing a wine according to the dictates of the history of Brunello, also to safeguard the surrounding environment, in fact the family obtained, in 2004, the certification for the production of wine obtained with grapes. bred with the organic farming system as evidence of how much quality, respect for the territory and the protection of nature represent real and essential priorities. The cellar, built on two levels (one of which underground), is designed and built to introduce the right techniques of modernity in the production allowing to carry out all the production phases inside it, from vinification and continuing with aging in oak barrels. from 20 to 35 hectoliters which are the undisputed protagonists in the aging process of Brunello wine, bottling precedes the long refinement in the bottle before being put on the market.
The vineyard area is 5 hectares, three of which extend around the cellar at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level. on the south-east side of the Montalcino hill, the other two are on the south side in the area of Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
