Castello Tricerchi
The company extends over 13 hectares of vineyards that are divided into seven plots, cultivated uniformly with spurred cordon: the Vigna del Velo (from the name of the overlying noble chapel dedicated to the Virgin of the Veil), the Vigna del Castello, of sant 'Anna, del Lago, dei Cipressi, del Piano and the New Vineyard. The cellar is located in the "dungeons" of the castle, where the temperature is almost stable throughout the year, thanks to the mighty walls and air chambers below and above, and where everything has remained as it was 600 years ago. In the three labels that were presented to us, the qualitative growth of the product that we already predicted last year was evident. The debut of the seductive Brunello A.D. 1441, proposed instead of the Reserve.
Currently in organic conversion, the agronomic management is based on deep respect for the territory and the plants. 7 different plots of Sangiovese, all north of Montalcino, are processed individually and independently. In addition to the use of copper and sulfur only, green manuring or grassing is carried out cyclically without the use of fertilizers.
