The ten hectares of fifty-year-old vineyards, managed in biodynamics on the beautiful hills around Cupra Marittima by the young couple of winemakers Eleonora Rossi and Marco Casolanetti, produce only 5,800 bottles of a single wine.
The plants reach the stratospheric density of 15,000 vines / ha with a yield of only 25 quintals of grapes.
One and a half hectograms of grapes per single plant is a difficult calculation, even just to imagine, in reality, but probably, without this premise, subsequent enological attention would not be sustainable.
The Montepulciano grape has a large concentration of anthocyanins and extracts, for which the absolute cleaning of the pores of the new woods is essential for greater micro-oxygenation in vinification and maturation, which is why the purchase of barriques every year is an investment to which not being able to give up. Oasi degli Angeli is therefore even more an oasis of research and progressive awareness of Vigneron's profession, intended as an involved, privileged and close observer of Nature and the fruit of the work of this young couple, it is a wine of pure richness, of extracts and of potential complexity: a kind of extreme synthesis of their love for the land and for the Montepulciano vine, in the firm coherence of the idea that moves the singular project since its inception in 1997.
