Zenato - Amarone Della Valpolicella Riserva Sergio Zenato 2010 Ml. 750
Winery Zenato
Characteristic
The heart and soul of Zenato lies in the ancient morainic lands of Lugana and Valpolicella, with their mild climate and unrivalled charm, that overlook the Veneto shore of Lake Garda.
The vineyards cover 75 hectares in the Zenato estate of S. Cristina in San Benedetto di Lugana, ideal for the Trebbiano di Lugana, and in the Costalunga estate in Valpolicella, the homeland of the famous Amarone Zenato, where the renowned vines Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta are cultivated.
It all began in 1960 when Sergio Zenato, filled with energy and ambition and driven by his deep bond with the territory, tried out new techniques of wine making and invested in native vines in order to obtain wine of the highest quality.
Today, his wife Carla, together with their children Alberto and Nadia, continues to pursue Sergio’s great enterprise with the same enthusiasm, tenacity and infinite dedication, making the excellence of Zenato's wines known in more than 60 countries of the world.
In this way, the soul of Lugana and the heart of Valpolicella continue to expand their borders.
VALPOLICELLA
In the land of Valpolicella Classica, in Sant'Ambrogio, amidst a succession of gentle hills behind the Veronese plain, are the 35 hectares of the Zenato's Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta vineyards. This is where Amarone is made, today considered one of the most valuable Veronese wines in the international panorama of wine making and one of the most important Italian red wines.
Ripassa Zenato is made by “repassing” Valpolicella wine over the pressed, withered grapes of Amarone. This is a significant mark of the science of wine making left by Sergio Zenato who, in the nineties, rediscovered an ancient method of Valpolicella by then long neglected, the "ripasso", and was the first to create a great wine that, since 2010, has held protected denomination of origin status.
The passion and interest for native vines, a precious heritage, has also given rise to two elegant wines with great character, the Cresasso, obtained by vinifying pure Corvina, and the Recioto, sweet wine, obtained by withering the Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta grapes.
AMARONE SELEZIONE
The passion with which we cultivate our vines and work in our cellars is rewarded with excellent harvests. Only experience and an intimate relationship with the land and the vineyard guide us in selecting the fruit for the precious Reserves. Wines are created that, every time, awake new, original and exclusive emotions.
We have great expectations for the Riserve Sergio Zenato: exceeding the quality of every other Zenato wine. Faithful to the original example of Sergio Zenato, the Reserves are inspired by a deep knowledge of the native wines and the aspiration to attain absolute, perfect, unrepeatable excellence. Their purest expressions are the Amarone Riserva Sergio Zenato and the Lugana Sergio Zenato.
