The Rosset Terroir winery is a small, newly established private holding that has achieved international recognition despite its few vintage years, distinguishing itself by the genuineness of its products.
The key to our production is our bond with the land, expressing itself in the decision to take environmental safe-guards: thanks to a photovoltaic system our cellar is 100% environmentally friendly.
In 2001, the Rosset family decided to convert their land near Aosta (Senin, Saint-Christophe) into a vineyard. These first three hectares were dedicated to growing Chardonnay vine plants, followed by Syrah and Cornalin, an Aosta Valley local grape.
Soon after, the vineyard was extended to cultivate 2 other local grapes, the Petit Rouge and Chambave Muscat, skillfully selected by Matteo Moretto, Rosset Terroir’s agronomist and wine maker.
This is our goal: the constant search to improve the quality of our products, while protecting and enhancing our terroir, which is the only heritage that distinguishes us internationally. Nicola Rosset, owner of Rosset Terroir holding, produces Rosset Terroir wines by researching local vine varieties and combining them with the Aosta Valley reinterpretation of valuable international vine varieties.
Our vineyard produces about 20.000 bottles annually. Renovation works are in progress, after cellar expansion and the modernization of the systems we will be able to double our wine production and to ensure the right space for our other products such as saffron, raspberries and artemisia plants. We also expanded our lands by acquiring three more hectares of vineyards where we are growing Petite Arvine and Pinot Gris. Starting from next year vintage we will see the outcomes of this growth.
