This word in Pantelleria has always identified a very remote and protected location, invisible from the sea. “Mueggen” is also a specific geographic location, close to Monte Gibele and Montagna Grande, one of the most isolated locations and at the same time the most lush of Pantelleria, a real “island within an island – isola nell’isola”, where Salvatore Murana owns valuable vineyards surrounding his famous “guest house”.
