Avignonesi

In 1974, the Falvo brothers, owners of the La Selva estate, in the municipality of Cortona, bought Avignonesi and re-founded it, investing heavily in viticulture. Over time they selected native vines and planted vineyards of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir. Today Avignonesi is made up of four production units: Le Capezzine, I Poggetti, La Selva and La Lombarda, 225 hectares, of which 109 are with vineyards and 3 with olive groves. This great super Tuscan and very particular as it is rare, comes from a union of 2 companies Avignonesi and Capannelle. In 2009 the company was taken over by Virgine Saverys, who immediately embraced the organic path. The company's philosophy is to enhance the more traditional Sangiovese grape. Respect for each wine, trying to make its path from the ground to the cellar to the bottle as natural as possible.
