Allegrini - Amarone Della Valpolicella 2016 Ml. 750
Winery Allegrini
Characteristic
The vineyards that produce the grapes for the vinification of Amarone are located in the Valpolicella Classica hillside area. Fieramonte, Monte dei Galli, Carpanè, Scornocio and Volta are located at about 250 m a.s.l. and have a prevalently south eastern exposure to the sun.
Some of these vineyards produce grapes for the production of Valpolicella Classico.
The climate is mild and temperate, thanks to the presence of the Lessinia high plateau and the Dolomites to the north and the vicinity of Lake Garda, which further improves the climate.
The terrain is sufficiently rich in various minerals. Planting is realised with the arbour system, with about 3,000 vines per hectare, thereby permitting perfect ripening of the grapes, which are earmarked for drying.
L'Amarone
The result of the Allegrini family's expertise, a true classic of the appellation, this red wine embraces tradition, territory and the know-how of country ways. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are left to air dry at least until December and are checked daily to ensure perfectly healthy grapes. Lengthy refining and ageing finally yields a red wine that has become emblematic of Italian oenology, alongside Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino. It has imposing structure and depth, as much in its aromas of mature fruit and spices, as on the palate, where the alcohol is sustained by the right degree of acidity and refined tannins.
