The Ferrero Estate is located at the Podere Pascena, about halfway between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Sant’Angelo Scalo, two small villages on the southern slopes of Montalcino.
It is a small reality established at the end of the 90's, in continuous progression.
The heart of the estate is a traditional stone-built farmhouse from about year 1900, restored in the 80's. The ground floor, the stable and the barn were transformed into vinification and ageing cellars.

THE VINEYARDS PASCENA

It's 7.5 acres of Sangiovese under the small village of Sant'Angelo in Colle, at about 250m above sea level, half with the rights for Brunello and half for Rosso di Montalcino.
We use only organic fertilizing completed with winter growth of special crops between the rows, to enhance the organic matter content. Total addition of nutrients is very limited, because Sangiovese gives high quality results only in poor conditions. Of basic importance is the green harvest: about one month before picking each single vine is brought into balance, leaving only a few clusters to achieve perfect maturation.

THE VINEYARDS MONTENERO

Close to the small village of Montenero d'Orcia, these 6.3 acres of vineyard are in the Montecucco area at 6 miles from the winery in Pascena, at about 300m above sea level.
The varieties are roughly 1,25 acres each of Alicante, Montepulciano, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese.
