Conterno Fantino

In 1982 the Conterno Fantino farm was founded by Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino. The company covers 27 hectares of vineyards divided between Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, producing 140,000 bottles. The important rule of the company and the protection of biodiversity, respect for the land, are the guidelines in the management of the vineyards, which are grown entirely in organic farming. The cellar is also built with an environmental impact. In 2008, it was built using various techniques aimed at both energy saving and the use of renewable sources such as the geothermal system, the installation of solar panels and, lastly, the phytoremediation of waste water. The Conterno Fantino farm interprets its wines under the banner of identity first and foremost: from the careful manual selection of the bunches to the collection in crates; from maintaining the aromas of the vineyards to spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts; from the careful use of wood for aging to the minimal use of sulphites up to the refinement in the bottle.
