Winery Tenuta Di Vaira
Characteristic
Vincenzo Di Vaira was born to a family of farmers originating in Molise ( Montenero di Bisaccia ), who in the fifties moved to the region of Bolgheri.
After years of experience with the family, Vincenzo now runs his own property on the Via Bolgherese, 50 cultivated hectares of land.
The business is run by the family, Vincenzo's wife Emanuela Granchi, their two daughters Sara and Romina Di Vaira along with Romina's husband Alessandro Degl'Innocenti.
The farm is situated under the eye of the Castle, known as la Rocca di Castiglionecello di Bolgheri. It's situated in the heart of what is considered one of the most important territories of wine making in Italy, renowned throughout the world, endowed with everything one would wish: medieval towns and villages, rolling hillsides and splendid forests, sunrises and sunsets over the sea just a few kilometers away. The wine, the extra virgin olive oil, the food and the culture of the people makes this territory something magical.
Thanks to the microclimate which is particular to this area of Tuscany, fresh and dry in the summer months, the land is more fertile , rich in minerals, favoring the cultivation of the olive groves , the vineyards and vedge that the family also produces.
Types of olive plants: Leccino and Moraiolo.
Types of grapes: Sangiovese, Cabernet, Canaiolo, Merlot, Trebbiano, Vermentino and Malvasia.
