In 2001 La spinetta expands beyond the borders of Piedmont and buys 65 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, in the area between Pisa and Volterra with the name Casanova della Spinetta. The company covers just over 60 hectares of vineyards, almost all facing south, located at a height of 250-300 meters above sea level. Three different indigenous varieties are produced in this company: Sangiovese, Colorino and Vermentino. The flagship of the company are the Cru: Sezzana and Sassontino, both pure Sangiovese that come from the oldest vineyards, available on the market only ten years after the harvest. The Nero di Casanova and the Chianti Riserva are also pure Sangiovese, whose vineyards extend for several hectares around the cellar. Do not forget the Colorino di Casanova which as suggested by the name itself is a 100% colorino, Il Gentile di Casanova 100% Prugnolo Gentile, Vermentino and Il Rosé di Casanova from 50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile grapes. Lastly, Casanova is the cradle of our olive oil. Bruno Rivetti has discovered the passion for oil that is produced with the same philosophy and dedication with which wine is produced.
